Pink oval-cut tourmaline in detailed setting

What an epic ring, this oval-cut tourmaline held in a detailed, open setting. The stone is beautifully cut and is the centerpiece to this gorgeous ring. This natural tourmaline has a deep, vibrant pink color in a very special hue. Tourmalines this size don't com around often and are usually very pricey. The stone has no scratches, and is beautifully cut in an oval shape, held up in a bezel setting. It's a great size at about 7 mm x 5 mm, making it about 0.9 carat, not too large and very wearable. The bezel setting lifts the stone up to be the shining center, up on elegant open-worked shoulders with some strong but soft detailing in swirls. Hallmarked C&LS for its maker, made in Edinburgh and for 9kt solid gold. The rest of the hallmarks are slightly smudged, but we can tell this was made more recently, after 1970.
