Stunning antique oval opal 18kt gold ring

What an absolute epic piece! This may be one of the most stunning opals we have ever had the pleasure of curating. The oval stone has the full rainbow in color play on a white underground, giving it ethereal vibes. The stone is bezel set, enveloped in luxurious 18kt gold. The opal measures about 12 mm x 10 mm, a super wearable but eye catching size. The 18kt solid band forms a bezel setting around the oval opal cabochon, lifting the opal up to shine bright. The color of the opal ranging between green, blue, orange and pink, with some beautiful color play on an overall white undertone. So many rainbows to get lost in! The opal is set on a solid, smooth band making this a clean piece with eye for detail. In great vintage condition, no scratches to the stone - it is very unique to find a real opal in this amazing condition at this size. The band is thick and heavy, this is a total of 5.5 grams and a great investment. Hallmarked for 18kt gold, made in Birmingham in 1898 - the odds of finding an antique opal ring in this condition are very rare.
