Antique oval portrait locket with blue enamel and set with pearls and garnet in 9kt gold

Instantly, you can tell this is a piece with a story. In this oval locket, what looks like a hand painted portrait is looking back at us smiling. There is a gold framing inside the glass and 9kg gold solid locket, that is able to be opened (the glass lifts out and presses back in place). The glass is in excellent condition and another art work or photo can be placed inside the glass if desired. The back of the pendant is set with 8 pearls in a star design, with a round garnet in the middle. The garnet measures about 3mm in diameter, the pearls are about 1.5 and 1 mm in diameter alternating. The back is made with light blue enamel in perfect condition - usually there is some chipping or breaks, but this is epic and whole. The pendant is about 2.5 cm x 2 cm and in great vintage condition. Such sentimental pieces, we absolutely adore these. Tests as 9kt gold and hallmarked " 494145 " .
