9kt gold garnet in scrolling engraved setting

This stunning ring has one round garnet in a worked setting in a luxurious engraved 9kt solid gold band. The diamond is a round cut: round and in great condition. The stone has a great shine and a deep dark red color, and at 6 mm in diameter its a great medium size. It is held up by a worked setting, partly open and partly engraved in scrolling forms. The old lifts up slightly around the garnet in an organic subtle form. The round garnet in combination with the workings on the band gives it a typical English antique look, but this revival piece made in the 70s is in amazing vintage condition. Easy to combine or wear on its own. Hallmarked OPT for its maker, for 9kt solid gold and made recently in Birmingham (after 1970, when hallmarks for dates were no longer required) .
